As artistically diverse as she is distinguished, Olivia Wik has followed the beat of her creative heart to gain
international recognition as a songwriter and artist who uses her experiences, instincts, and industry savvy to create genre-bending songs that exemplify the complex emotions of being human. First breaking through in country music, Olivia garnered attention with accolades like a 2014 Edmonton Music Awards Artist to Watch nomination and multiple Country Music Alberta nominations that included Song of the Year, and Female Artist of the Year. Her success also led to songwriting recognition for Canadian country artists like Olivia Rose, Krissy Feniak, Connor James, and Lisa Nicole. A pop co-write – “She’s So Hepburn” – released by Ryland James as part of YTV’s “The Next Star” was another exciting highlight for Olivia, while sync placements, including CBC’s “Pure” and PBS’s “Off the Beaten Palate”, soon followed.
Olivia released “When I Was Drunk”, her debut single in 2019. Her 2020 follow-up, “Over and Over”, was featured in the Lifetime movie, “Twinkle All the Way”. As an artist, “Let’s Dance” is her first of two planned single releases, while as a songwriter, her original song, “See You Again” – performed by Ovi Jacobsen and Paula Seling – was the Romanian submission to the Eurovision and the European Broadcast collaboration, The New European Songbook. It’s all part of a distinctive journey that has taken Olivia across genres and borders.
