Ollie's first solo album "Barrel O' Fun" was released in 2006. "Barrel O' Fun" met with widespread acceptance. "Arrives a Girl" was an editor's pick on download.com, and was downloaded nearly 4000 times. "Chaka Khan" was chosen as a KEXP song of the day, and was podcasted to nearly 50,000 people. The record received critical reviews that praised the rawness, sincerity, and versatility of the songs and the creativity of the production. Ollie even got a write up in Billboard Magazine's "Now Hear This" as an up and coming artist that could make it into the "big time."
In 2018, "Couple Skate" went viral on Instagram and on Spotify, bringing renewed interest and a new underground following to "Barrel O' Fun."
Since then, Byrd has released 2 e.p.s, and several singles, most notably "The Sun Will Bring the Day Again," and "Owl Pagoda."
On May 30th, 2025, Byrd will release his second full-length album, "Bleech Mountain." "Bleech Mountain" is both action-packed and melancholy, pulling on threads from slow, hypnotic new-wave, while at times taking a step into hard rock, while at some moments bringing something perhaps as yet undefined.
