On The Offshore inhabit a dense and colourful musical territory integrating elements of triphop, neosoul, electronica and indie - thereby creating an alt-pop style which is very much their own.
On The Offshore are vocalist, keyboardist, songwriter Lucy Pereira (UK) and bassist, guitarist, producer, songwriter Girisha Fernando (D / SL), featuring Kilian Buehler on drums, and joined at live shows by Riccardo Ferrara (guitar).
Inspiration for their latest album "In Exile", released January 2021, came in 2019 when they were commissioned to write and perform music for a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest at the Augsburg State Theatre. Many songs evolved out of that project, others have been written since, such as the latest smoothly grooving single, All I Want.
"In Exile is a wonderful album, a luminous, warm, melancholic work of music that sounds timeless in a 90s aesthetic, and feels like the comfort of home despite its title....a walk through the dim alleys of London's East End, when it was not yet beset by Starbucks chains, but when there were little backroom clubs everywhere, where you could discover the most wonderful music....Already after the first listen, the songs stick. That's how catchy they are, and every single one holds a little surprise, takes a short turn, and changes harmony or dynamics" (Sebastian Kraus / AZ)
