For Ones Loved, making music is truly a family affair.
With all the best elements of baroque pop, the band is ready to make luscious waves in a hungry musical world. There is a beautifully balanced sincerity in Ones Loved that comes from the deep connection that can only come from friendship, love, and familiarity.
The quintet, which features a mix of friends old and new, siblings, former bandmates, and current lovers, celebrates the release of their first album, Oleander, in October of 2025.
In 2023 Jim Andreas (Trunk Federation/No Volcano) started writing songs with his partner, and frequent musical collaborator, Jenny Tamura, and her brother, Jeremy Randall (No Volcano). Andreas then brought in his (Trunk Federation) bandmate, Bob Smith, to contribute songs, bass tracks and help produce the recordings the trio, and now quartet, were working on.
As things progressed, Tamura and Andreas met drummer/songwriter Jon Utter (Bear State, Flower Festival) at a Phoenix show and bonded over music and being parents. Soon, the quartet added a fifth, this time a new friend, and Utter found his home behind the kit and keys for Ones Loved.
While there are elements of Andreas, Smith, Randall and Utter’s previous bands, Ones Loved has a sound all its own that is reminiscent of bands such as Blonde Redhead and Low, as well as artists like Andy Shauf and L’Rain.
