Openness isn’t interested in following trends, but rather seeks to explore our connection to the universe through the timeless expression of music. Enter the recording project of Keelan McDorman, brought to life through collaboration with a plethora of musicians. Openness songs are written out in nature, then recorded and produced in Keelan’s home, “The Open Nest” cottage in Denver, Colorado.
It is now crystal clear that humanity is at a point of unprecedented unbalance. The destruction of our own planet and all the unnecessary suffering is a result of the fact that we continue to take and take, while giving very little. There will come a time when there is no more left to take.
Openness seeks to give — to be part of a reversal of the direction of humanity by crafting songs of love . . . not love in the romantic sense, but a deeper kind of love which is rooted in an intuitive sensation of the interconnectedness of all things and the all-pervading awareness and contentment of the present moment. Journey Simmons of 303 Magazine writes, “Building connection – to ourselves, to each other, to the world around us — is the foundation of Openness’ artistic ethos.”
Keelan feels that the songs come through him rather than from him, as though he is more of a musical messenger than anything else.
So far, Openness has released 40 songs featuring 33 different musicians. This musical message is stamped for priority delivery.
