Oquoa was formed by Max Holmquist (<a href="spotify:artist:66lbJJl6YpqNFyRqXCN3CS" data-name="Dream Ghoul">Dream Ghoul</a>), Roger L. Lewis (<a href="spotify:artist:7MDjyeL85p0NwMIpu96o1l" data-name="The Good Life">The Good Life</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3L22OjRkj5Psvqmsn2Q8Ds" data-name="Neva Dinova">Neva Dinova</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3gTQnV64nzO6NTPlBiGpjj" data-name="Conduits">Conduits</a>) and J.J. Idt (<a href="spotify:artist:3gTQnV64nzO6NTPlBiGpjj" data-name="Conduits">Conduits</a>) in 2013. After their self-titled debut released in 2014, Idt left the band to pursue other outlets, welcoming Patrick Newbery (<a href="spotify:artist:1sylmUjlKYsLA49YtkNHW3" data-name="Cursive">Cursive</a>) on keys and Mike Overfield (<a href="spotify:artist:3gTQnV64nzO6NTPlBiGpjj" data-name="Conduits">Conduits</a> ) on bass.
With this lineup, they wrote and recorded their follow-up EP, "In Oneir," released in July 2016 on cassette. They entered the studio again in January 2019 and released their full-length “Timesquares” in fall 2019.
