Orah & The Kites are an alternative indie/folk band based in Cape Town, South Africa. The band formed in 2016 by Ntokozo Mzimela (Keys/Vocals/Guitar) with best friends Teagyn Gracey (Vocals/Saxophone) and Jaimie De Klerk (Synth/Vocals). The trio soon expanded to include Tristan De Beer of Face (Lead Guitar/Vocals) and Kieron Brown of Bam Bam Brown (Bass/Vocals) in 2018 and Giovanni Serci on drums in 2019.
The Orah & The Kites soundscape is forever evolving but is rooted in an appreciation for vocal harmony and the meditativeness of repetition. The group draws inspiration from artists such as The War on Drugs, Beach House, Sylvan Esso and Arlo Parks.
