Ordinary People have groove and grit. Born and raised in New Jersey, Seamus Murphy, Frankie Revis, Spencer Thron & Donny Muller specialize in their fusion of rap, funk, rock, blues, and even jazz or folk to create a mixed-influence sound unlike anyone else in their local scene. With D.I.Y roots and built-in funk, their first two independent albums, The Sun & Moon Conspiracy (2020) & Burning the Midnight Oil (2022), is the beginning of what will be an constantly evolving discography.
OP formed in 2019 and began writing their first album, and a year later subsequently released their first live album What's 911's Phone Number? (Live) including songs from both their first and second albums. The band incorporates a multitude of genres, led by Frankie's signature funk/jam/grunge-inspired guitar playing, tied with Donny's explosive yet calculated percussion. Through the voice of a devoted artist, lead singer and frontman Seamus's lyrics and performances both articulate and express themes of love, addiction, internal conflict, and a niche perspective of religion dating back to his years in Catholic school.
The band resembles something like Iggy Pop on stage, and strive live with sweat, intensity, rhythm, and power. Be on the lookout for new releases derived off the bands next album / current project "These Birds Don't Fly South".
