Ormar is an Icelandic grunge-infused rock band, heavily inspired from the music of the '90s. Their music is in their native language, Icelandic, and therefore can only be understood by about 350,000 people on this earth. Having said that, Ormar claim that they are firm believers of the universal language of music and welcome listeners regardless of how they prefer to communicate.

The band was formed during the great musical drought in the COVID winter of 2020. Elvar Bragi Kristjónsson is their singer and guitarist. Hörður Þórhallsson is their singer and lead-bassist. Sólrún Mjöll Kjartansdóttir is their lead-drummer.

The band released their debut EP record “Grugg” (e. grunge) on the 4th of April 2022. It received positive words from music critics and some of the songs were featured on the X-Dominos music chart, hosted by Icelandic rock radio X977. The song “Aftur á bak” charted in 10th place while “Aðeins hærra” was in the 2nd place for 5 weeks in a row.

Ormar are currently releasing singles from their upcoming EP “Hvenær verð ég fullorðinn?” (e. Will I Ever Grow Up?).

But enough history for now. Enjoy the music!
