<a href="spotify:artist:0HutkALC7kq2L8b9bnZUkq" data-name="Otoboke Beaver">Otoboke Beaver</a> are a punk-rock-garage quartet from Kyoto,Japan named after a local ‘Love Hotel’-they describe themselves as: “Japanese girls ‘knock out or pound cake’ band”.Formed in 2009’s summer in Kyoto, Japan, and consists of Accorinrin (Lead Vocal & Guitar), Yoyoyoshie (Guitar &Vocals), Hiro-chan (Bass &Vocals) and Pop (Drums &Vocals).
Sonically, it’s crazed, deranged garage, punk-rock-pop at break-neck speed and everyone sings in Japanese, often in Kyoto slang.
2017 was a breakthrough year for the band with premieres in Pitchfork, NPR, i-D and The Fader, astonishing SXSW/Fuji Rock debuts, a sold-out 100 Club gig with <a href="spotify:artist:4tvbo17gXpYgSr8sTlkaby" data-name="Say Sue Me">Say Sue Me</a> and their ‘Love Is Short’ 7” sat in the UK charts for 4 weeks.
In 2018, the band travelled over 24,000 miles in one week to play two slots at Coachella festival, as well as a 3 date UK headline 'ATTYUUMA' (blink of an eye) tour. It saw them team up with labelmates <a href="spotify:artist:4tvbo17gXpYgSr8sTlkaby" data-name="Say Sue Me">Say Sue Me</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6DOA3xbFK8Q6XYImLaE9Vs" data-name="Leggy">Leggy</a>.
in 2919 the band return to SXSW then release their new album ITEKOMI HITS that's (April 26) on Damnably records just ahead of their "Golden Week" UK Tour with <a href="spotify:artist:4tvbo17gXpYgSr8sTlkaby" data-name="Say Sue Me">Say Sue Me</a> & Drinking Boys and Girls Choir.
