Former members of KUKL and the Sugarcubes. Birgir Mogensen and Sigtryggur Baldursson got back together in 2019 and created Paddan the continues to churn out creative concoctions based on their varied backgrounds in music. Fluid time is their first release.
The two spent time from 1983-1986 in the legendary post punk experimental outfit KUKL that was released on Corpus Christi records in England and featured artists like Einar Örn and Björk that later populated the Sugarcubes with Sigtryggur.
Recorded, produced, and arranged by the pair, Sigtryggur and Birgir play basses, guitars and drums along with various other instruments. All recordings are played with live instruments except a modular synth which is programmed in the background of two tracks.
The duo is joined by the great harmonica and lap steel player Gaukur Davidsson on “Vaguely” and “Bug,” and trumpet player Eirikur Orri Ólafsson on “Splash.”
The record was mixed by Árni Hjörvar Árnason and Albert Finnbogason.
