This album is dedicated to Dave Theriault, bass player and human extraordinaire, who left this world too soon in April of 2022. Recorded at Galaxy Park in Watertown MA by Richard Marr in 2014, SATURDAY is the culmination of 13-plus years playing in Boston clubs and lofts pretending to be a band while providing intense therapy for the band members.
Padded Hell was formed in 2002 by Mike Mahan, the founding guitarist for AC and front man for Bratface. He recruited Rico Petroleum (Kilslug, Groinoids, Upsidedown Cross) on bass, Audrey Hell on lead vocals and Larry Litogot (Penis Fly Trap, Jay Allen and the Archcriminals) on drums. Dave Theriault joined Padded Hell in 2010 when Rico and Audrey left due to mandatory band insanity. Mike, Larry and Dave took on more vocals and the new trio semi-matured with Mike even learning to tune his guitar regularly.
Despite these setbacks, Padded Hell’s signature songs, I Hate The Beach and Thanksgiving Dinner have been performed by dog orchestras around the world. Meanwhile, Brown Bag Beer finished second in the annual Best Punk Song About Beer Award in 2045.
