Hailing from Los Angeles, paledove is the alternative/dream pop project of Devon Thompson, blending the tension and fervor of ’90s alt rock with a softer, yearning, shimmering undercurrent. Drawing inspiration from the ethereal textures of Lush, The Sundays, and Cocteau Twins, the melodic instincts of Johnny Marr, and the dark romanticism of The Cure, Thompson crafts a sound that balances distortion and delicacy, urgency and atmosphere.
At once hazy and visceral, paledove inhabits the space between the raw and the weightless, pairing the intensity of alternative rock with the immersive, dreamlike pull of shoegaze and dream pop.
