Blue Cinema is a five-piece group of devoted friends from Cambridgeshire, UK, who weave a hypnotic blend of shoegaze, dreampop, synth-pop, psychedelic and new wave, lovingly described as “shoe-synth-dream.”

Their songs are all written collectively, with each member building around shared immersive textures, lush melodies and driving rhythms. The band features Malka (lead vocals), Gigi (guitar), Annie (keys), Jack (bass) and J Mass (drums), each shaping their layered, atmospheric sound.

Drawing influence from artists such as Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine and New Order, Blue Cinema balance nostalgia and intensity with a modern edge, creating expansive soundscapes that sit between dream and distortion.

Live, they’ve quickly built momentum across the UK scene, including standout performances supporting Miki Berenyi Trio and Chastity Belt, appearances at Shiny New Model Festival alongside artists such as Antony Szmierek, Dream Wife and Night Tapes, and regular shows across Cambridge, London and beyond including UK shoegaze and alternative festival lineups.

Blue Cinema continue to evolve within the UK alternative scene, carving out a space between shoegaze revivalism and contemporary dream-pop experimentation.
