Panama Picture is aiming a big postrock cannon directly at the center of your heart. There, in your emotional core, their universe unfolds with a loud bang and sprays melody-matter into one, rhythm-plasma into another and riff-meteorites in the opposite direction. Their indie-ambient-prog-pop-bastard contains more than a tank-sized piñata, each composition is fatter than a deep-fried Jabba The Hutt and every song has more meta levels than a discussion between Stephen Hawking, Dr. Who and Shakespeare. Without a doubt: The five-piece from Hamburg creates smart music without wracking their brains. Their debut album “Oh, Machine” and the following EP “Zersmashed! Zersmashed! Zersmashed!” have already been kaleidoscopes of melancholy - but this new sound which the guys have distilled from their fingers and hearts makes you drunk immediately. Ambiguous music for clear-cut feelings, heaven and hell traded in for a tight hug.
