Taj-Vaughn ‘Pantason’ Johnson
Biography
Described as a ‘multifaceted’ Grammy-nominated music executive, entrepreneur, and
philanthropist, Taj-Vaughn Johnson, commonly known as Pantason, is dubbed the ‘Dubplate
Legend’. He grew up in Seaview Gardens in Kingston, Jamaica and was exposed to reggae and
dancehall music through his father, the legendary sound system owner, and selector, Pink
Panther. Pantason, who has an undying love for music, started his own sound system called the
‘Pantason Movement’ and began to collect ‘dubplates’. He then started the first ever dubplate
and booking agency called ‘Pantason Music Production Limited’ in Jamaica, connecting
artists and sound systems worldwide.
As time progressed, he added other titles to his name: Music Producer, Recording Engineer,
Video Director, and Artist Manager. In April 2021, he gained credit as a ‘Recording Engineer’
on international superstar DJ Khaled’s album ‘Khaled Khaled’ on the song, ‘Where You Come
From’, working alongside DJ Khaled, Capleton, Buju Banton, and Bounty Killer. He was again
credited on Khaled’s Grammy-nominated ‘God Did’ album (2022), on the song ‘These Streets
Know My Name’, working alongside DJ Khaled, Sizzla, Skillibeng, Buju Banton, Capleton, and
Bounty Killer.
