Papa Coyote makes world dance music with light and love!
From Afropop to Zydeco -- Bluegrass to Cumbia -- from a romantic sidewalk Paris Café to an exotic trip down the Nile, you'll rock your body and feed your soul to this spicy musical gumbo!
With a home base in Portland Oregon, he has played from New York to New Orleans, up and down the West coast sharing the stage with the likes of Little Feat, The Wailers, Marvin Seals and JGB, and moe; recorded in Egypt and Denmark and in collaboration with artists from Brazil to Greece!
He is currently on a two year exploration of North and South America-recording and performing as he travels in his converted camper van, Max Transit. You can follow his travels in the usual ways.
Papa has released 5 albums of original music, 2 of which are available here, 2012’s Talking Dog and the eponymous Papa Coyote in 2024, which features Baritone and Alto sax and Papa on Wurlitzer pianos and organs.
His latest release in 2025 is the first in a series of explorations in more acoustic arrangements with Papa on mandolin and accordion and Nikos Mavridis from Greece on violin. Look for more releases by spring 2025.
