Lesego Bopape, better known by his pseudonym Papekeys is a South African Music Composer, Producer and DJ, born and raised in Limpopo, Polokwane where he started his musical journey.

Papekeys has been a Dj and Music Producer from the age of 13, he had since been developing his craft and adopting skills such as playing the piano and guitar. Influenced by artists around Limpopo by the likes of Chymamusique, Da Capo, Problem Child and Enosoul, he developed a love for Deep/Soulful house.

Papekeys started releasing his own music in 2017 with his debut single titled “Morning Blues”. He experimented with many genres but later developed a love for Amapiano. His experimentation led him to being able to produce multiple genres. He also ghost produces for upcoming artists.

In 2021 He studied Digital Music Composition and Production at Boston Media House in connection with Soulcandi Institute of Music, there he learnt how to engineer his own music (Mixing and Mastering)

In 2022 He was appointed to lecture the Digital Music Composition and Production course at Soulcandi Institute of Music (Boston City Campus) in Bloemfontein. There he met and worked with artists such as Kamza Heavypoint, Peekay Mzee, 2point1, Presss Music and many more artists of that calibre.

He registered his Record Label,”PAPEKEYS RECORDS”, where he releases his music.
He strives to bring healing and hope through the messages contained in most of his music.
