Paper Grenades are an all-female rock band from Cambridge, making waves with their unique blend of live guitar-based indie rock. The band gained recognition in 2022, winning the Under 18 Audience Choice Award at the Cambridge Band Competition. Their big local following was secured with a string of appearances at small venues.
The nomination of ‘Toxic Friend’ for the Kimberley Rew Songwriting Award opened the gate for airplay and radio and newspaper interviews - in particular with Cambridge 105 and BBC Music Introducing.
The band’s favourite venues are Cambridge Junction and The Portland Arms - but there’s always a dusting of eclectic covers. On Centre Stage at Strawberry Fair, the band paid homage to influences as diverse as Dove Cameron, Pixies, Garbage and Nancy Sinatra.
This year saw the release of ‘The Singles’ - a seminal collection of the band’s biggest songs to date, and the new single ‘Bad Example’.
