Papillion is a Cajun musician / storyteller who delights in recounting stories and songs of the Creoles and Cajuns. These stories and songs help bring the Cajun heritage and culture to light. He does this by explaining the traditions and the French language of the Cajuns. Papillion has been teaching children through his music for nearly twenty years. He was also the recipient of the, "International Environmental People Who Care Award", for his "Kids Can Change the World" childrens' program. Papillion's 1995 release, Cajun Music for Kids brings an educational and entertaining sound for children's ears with the selection of instruments played on the album. The instruments included are the rub board, accordions, tit fere (triangle), fiddle, spoons, drums, guitars, flute and saxophone. One of the key attractions is Papillion's use of accompaniment by many of the children's voices serving to delight and excite. Another interesting component of the album is the truly wonderful French spoken and interpretation of the French phrases. There is an old Cajun proverb that goes, "You can still find the joy of life no matter how hard your life may be." Accept the message and thrive in the energy of Papillion's stories and songs. Papillon continues his traditional magic on his 1997 release, Cajun & Zydeco Music For Kids Vol. 1, on Ralph Records. ~ Larry Belanger, Rovi
