In 1995, an aspiring synthpop producer, an old-school rapper, and a darkwave freak with DJ ambitions met amidst Northern Germany's burgeoning techno and rave scene. Paraphonatic was formed – somewhere between hard trance and techno, always driving, melodic, and inspired by the sound of the legendary Hanomag halls.
In the same year, Paraphonatic released their debut, the anthem for the 1st Reincarnation Street Parade in Hanover. The vibe of this era – euphoric, colorful, uncompromising – became deeply ingrained in the DNA of the Paraphonatic sound and has shaped their music across many releases to this day. Thirty years later – after creative breaks, many detours, and collaborations with other artists – the trio has been together again in its original lineup at the Klangwerk studio in Hanover since 2025.
