During uncertain times when "yesterday" seemed like a longed-for afterthought and "tomorrow" a nerve-wracking anticipation, a group spawned from the toil and mediocrity of everyday Jakarta life. Formed when a group of long time friends Naufal Fadhil (vocals/guitar), Ahmad Yusuf Habibi (drums), and Farrel Arifin (guitar) decided to act on their shared love of music by enthusiastically making up songs in a worn out bedroom from scratch, putting skills and technical prowess a little to the wayside as they figure their sounds as they go. Not long after, Arfan Rashad (bass) joined and solidified the formation of Parasupra.
This group of friends craft songs that blend multiple influences all the way from melodic alternative rock, speedy punk tunes, to mainstream Indonesian pop music. Displaying introspective yet wistful lyrics soaked in ramshackle guitar riffs, explorative drum patterns, and dynamic bass lines.
As the beginning of their journey, they released their debut maxi-single titled Belum Berakhir, Biru Yang Sama which introduces their sound. Most of their output, shows, and merchandise wouldn't have been possible if it were not with a little help from friends. parasupra is a part of a connection of likeminded comrades in the form of Safe From Suffer, Maria Tambun, Kupu-Kupu, and many more.
