Rick Munarriz and Willie Cleer formed Paris By Air in 1985 when a DJ friend connected them to a singer looking for a band. Miami's Latin freestyle dance scene was thriving, and the addition of Haydee Rivera provided the synth-happy trio a Euro-inspired way to cash in on the local craze. Paris By Air caught the eye of mega-producer Lewis Martinee of <a href="spotify:artist:5nPz5R1FDPTMI3Dw4JnTGb" data-name="Exposé">Exposé</a> fame, signing Rick, Willie, and Haydee to his management company after an appearance on WLRN's "Teen Scene" show and scoring airplay for <a href="spotify:track:5w9Y2yAJXavnQfSGDKUJb1" data-name="Tonight I'm Yours">Tonight I'm Yours</a> on Miami's WVUM in 1986. Paris By Air signed to Columbia Records in 1987. <a href="spotify:track:0kNC5rAqn67cxp1Yb6QmVJ" data-name="Voices In Your Head">Voices In Your Head</a> was released in 1989, hitting No. 14 on the Billboard Dance Chart. <a href="<a href="spotify:track:3VJDyEBx6KQrqCbXV6dnlP" data-name="C'mon & Dance With Me (Hiptown Mix)">C'mon & Dance With Me (Hiptown Mix)</a>quot; data-name="C'mon & Dance With Me (Hiptown Mix)">C'mon & Dance With Me (Hiptown Mix)</a> came out a year later, peaking at No. 35. Haydee left in 1992 to go solo. She performs as <a href="spotify:artist:1DajAF38R7F2KDAzv8ztSh" data-name="Eday">Eday</a> now. Terri Gil stepped in as lead singer after Columbia dropped the band from its label, in time for the self-released <a href="spotify:track:4j6kj8jN1yClpUuqif04HJ" data-name="I'm Serious">I'm Serious</a>. In 1995 the band's <a href="spotify:track:5v4BVXZFuPEv3UE07dMqMN" data-name="All Around the Sound">All Around the Sound</a> was released by Europe's YYZ Records. That track and <a href="spotify:track:4LAxwKVkloFQX1gOmpuon4" data-name="Don't Close Your Eyes">Don't Close Your Eyes</a> were featured in the 2001 "Serial Intentions" movie starring Mark Grant and Erin Gray. Paris By Air won a Miami Dance Music Award in 2010.
