On November 24, 2001, the Crossair flight LX 3597 from Berlin to Zurich crashed into woodlands four miles short of the runway, near the town of Bassersdorf. Passion Fruit and <a href="spotify:artist:488v7rQzthLNK22r0UvMie">La Bouche</a>'s vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:2apYMRrg5FxN4go0pfsCvf">Melanie Thornton</a> were among the passengers on that plane. Maria Serrano-Serrano and Nathaly van het Ende passed away while Debby St. Marteen suffered serious injuries.
