Peach GB is a trailblazing band that emerged in the early 1990s Camden shoe-grunge scene (alongside Swervedriver, Mint 400 and others) as a force in the alternative metal scene. Known for their intricate instrumentation, unconventional song structures, and emotionally charged performances, Peach GB carved out a unique space in the music world. Their debut album, Giving Birth to a Stone (1994), remains a cult classic, combining heavy, dynamic riffs with introspective lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners. The band's original lineup featured bassist Justin Chancellor, who would later go on to join the iconic progressive metal band Tool, further solidifying Peach GB's influence in the genre. Peach had toured extensively with Tool in the early 90s. Tool have subsequently added two Peach GB tracks - Spasm and You Lied - to their live catalogue. The number of You Lied cover versions and guitar tab videos on YouTube has grown too large to count.

Following Peach GB's dissolution, key members Simon Oakes and Rob Havis carried their creative vision forward by forming Suns of the Tundra, an equally compelling project that continues to evolve the spirit of progressive metal music. Suns of the Tundra has cultivated a devoted following and garnered critical acclaim for their richly layered and atmospheric releases. They released The Only Equation in 2023 and a remix of self-titled album Suns of the Tundra in January 2025, which includes several unreleased Peach GB tracks.
