Peck the Town Crier is the storytelling alter ego of songwriter Chris Peck.

Delivering his lyrics in either rap or sing-song form, Peck released "Gounrdhog's Day" his first record under the Town Crier moniker in December 2007. Containing party jams like "Underwear" and "Coffee" as well as more serious material like "Old Man Still Got It" and "James Brown", "Groundhog's Day" is a world unto it's self. The album was recorded and mixed by Scott McDowell at San Francisco's Hyde St. Studio and features a host of Bay Area jazz, gospel and hip-hop musicians.

2012 saw Peck the Town Crier's next release, the double EP "Home Phone/Ghost of Payphone". Funded by a Kickstarter campaign, this was Peck's first vinyl record. Side A, an 80's and 90's encompassing rock record, was produced, recorded and mixed by Peck's longtime collaborator, Miles Kennedy. Side B, "Ghost Of Payphone" was co-written, produced, engineered and mixed by Tomas delToro-Diaz. It features some of the wildest production and genre mashing of any of Peck's 25+ releases.

Beginning in 2019, Peck embraced a more rootsy, traditional sound and began to release music as "Chris Peck." These albums can also be found here on Spotify.
