periwinkles is a Japanese alternative female duo that was formed in 2019, the band is composed of Riho (Vo/Gt) and Ikumi (Drum). They are from Niigata, Japan. Their sound is influenced by 80s〜90s US indie and UK rock, and they infused their lo-fi tastes to make their original sound. They released their first CD independently and they sold out immediately, and they released their 2nd single called, “Sun Flower” which was released as a Cassette tape with ZINE. Their stuff is renowned for design as well. They released their debut album, “21” in December 2020, and they just released their latest song called Shadows/Waves this spring.
2019年結成。Gt.Vo.riho、Dr.ikumiの2ピース・ガールズバンド。80から90年代USインディーズ、UKロックにに影響を受けたlo-fiなサウンドが特徴。結成直後に自主制作したCD-Rは完売し、2019年9月には「Sun Flower」をカセット+ZINEの形で販売し、アートワークやグッズのデザインにも定評がある。2020年12月ファースト・フルアルバム「21」をリリース。2022年4月には新しいシshingle”Shadows／Waves”をリリース。2023年7月26日には2nd Albumをリリース予定だ。
