Pete Bustamante grew up in Vernon Texas on the Red River border before moving to San Antonio in 1994.
He Began playing drums in his father’s Conjunto Band at the age of five. He was influence first by his father’s music who’s style was similar to Don Santiago Jimenez father of Flaco Jimenez. His father being from Vernon Texas and growing up in the 1950s was influenced by the country and rock n roll music that he loved and was happening at the time. His favorites were Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Hank Williams Sr, Buck Owens and Willie Nelson to name a few. He also loved the Texas Conjunto music and played the Bajo Sexto and the button Accordion, he says this was the music that influenced him the most. His Mom in 1977 became a God-fearing born-again Christian and began to instill gospel roots and principles in him that are what drives and encourages him today more than anything. In 2010 he had a life-changing experience and surrendered his life and talent to a spiritual calling by God he said he could no longer hide or run from. He begin to record positive encouragement spiritual music of Love , Peace , Joy, Forgiveness and Salvation, and of course began to incorporate all the musical influences He grew up learning, The purpose of his music is not only to entertain he says, but to change lives in reaching people far from God through the power of music.
