Country-Americana singer/songwriter and guitar player Pete Scobell spent 17 years in the Navy before moving into the active reserves and shifting his sights toward a career in music, but his focus has always been in the service of helping others. An award-winning ski racer and lifeguard before enlisting, Scobell ended his active-duty military career as a lieutenant and a Navy Seal, bringing home two Bronze Stars with Valor, Joint Commendation Medals, multiple combat action ribbons, and two Presidential Unit Citations. A tireless champion of veterans rights and a busy lecturer on the effects and causes of traumatic brain injuries, Scobell joined up with Wynonna Judd for a duet on the Travis Meadows-penned "Hearts I Leave Behind," which pays tribute to Marine sniper Chris Kyle, who was the subject of Clint Eastwood's award-winning 2014 film American Sniper. ~ James Christopher Monger, Rovi
