Formed after meeting on tours and at music festival appearances, Pfarmers was conceived as an experimental side project for singer/multi-instrumentalist Danny Seim of the post-rock band Menomena; Bryan Devendorf, drummer for international-charting indie rockers the National; and trombonist Dave Nelson, who had performed with Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, David Byrne & St. Vincent, and more. Titled for a dream Seim had about being reincarnated as a plant, the trio released its debut album, Gunnera, on Jurassic Pop in the spring of 2015. ~ Marcy Donelson, Rovi
