Phortah's creative essence is somewhat free. He relates with the living tree, soil, sky, ocean and animal more so than with genre labels.
"I listen to (feel) my animal body from within the living web which flows beyond intellectual capture.
With cues and guidance from nature, I cultivate visionary and feeling faculties as a part of the process. My music and dance practices are a part of this nourishing work. There has been a role for me to share from this place and I am grateful for all of the invitations and opportunities which have come from those who have recognised Phortah's offering.
Sound wise, I work with various tools to create sensuous, enveloping auras which are often punctuated by saucy grooves. This aural recipe can be nourishing for humans and landscapes. I'm drawn to delving into deeper work with both.
My work with sound is supported first and foremost by a practice of listening."
