Plugim is an individual project started in 2019 by Damián Plouganou, an Argentine musician, composer and producer based in Barcelona. His work is elusive, moving through the territories of abstract music, noise and ambient, without belonging entirely to any of them. Plugim's music is built from electric guitar performances, sinuous rhythmic loops, extensive synth notes, tape recordings or found sounds, all performed live, in an amalgam in which rhythms and melodies dissolve, an organic and electronic sound with which concepts such as sound memory, personal logs or attentive listening are explored.
He has published the singles "Morning Cycling", "Alley Cables" and "Plants Path" (2020) independently; "Sand Wind" was included in CLOSE/STARE Compilation / Acto de Fe (2020), as well as "Relente (fragmento)" included in CLOSE/STARE Compilation / Volvamos a perturbar el tiempo, both published by the Oigovisiones label; "Reverso" (2022) published by Ape Soul Records. In 2024 he published his first album, "Pampasia" with the Diffuse Reality label, an emotional territory, woven from mental photographs captured in constant movement, during the eighties and nineties in Argentina. Pampasia is a canvas of broken down, sometimes empty roads, where visual and sound characters parade in old cars, intervened nature and the omnipresence of the sky and its changing moods.
