Since debuting in 2011, Polka Wars’ meteoric rise has seen them become one of the most exciting forces in the Indonesian independent music scene. The band consists of Giovanni Rahmadeva on drums, Karaeng Adjie on vocals and guitar, and Xandega Tahajuansya on bass.
They got their big break when they won the Converse Rubbertracks competition in 2014, which gave them a chance to record three songs at Rubber Track's flagship studio in New York. The year after saw them chosen as one of the Rolling Stone Indonesia's Young Guns, along with the release of their debut album 'Axis Mundi', which was certified gold in Indonesia.
In 2016, they released an EP titled E P / N Y which included songs that they recorded in New York back in 2014. The single "Rangkum" was chosen as the best song of 2017 by Rolling Stone Indonesia .
After releasing their sophomore album ‘Bani Bumi’ on 2019 to rave receptions, they are gearing to kickstart after a two year hiatus with 2 new singles "Tien Shinhan” and “Phases of Hue” that mark their new phase as a trio.
