Originally founded as a solo passion project by vocalist David Gillespie in 2015, Polterguise came into its own as a promising force within the progressive post-hardcore world with the release of two full-band singles “Ectogasm” and “Ethereale” in 2019.
Touching on the ghost-hunting inspiration behind the group’s name, both “Ectogasm” and “Ethereale” fit firmly within the proggresive post-hardcore world affectionately referred to as swancore by its faithful followers.
Determined to push the boundaries of their sound, Polterguise teamed up with songwriter Andrew Baylis (see: Sleeping With Sirens, Picturesque, VRSTY, Outline in Color, et all) to produce a new 5-song EP called “Vantablack”, taking their dynamic mix of lighty, poppy vocal cadences and aggressive progressions to an entirely new level.
