Poppy Jean Crawford is a musician from Los Angeles, California. At just 16, she dropped out of high school to begin working on her first recordings with legendary producer Ross Robinson (Korn, The Cure, Soko) in Venice Beach, collaborating with a supergroup of musicians including Justin Pearson (The Locust), Michael Craine (Retox), and Dave Lombardo (Slayer). Though these recordings were shelved for years, they marked the start of a bold and uncompromising artistic journey.
In the years since, Crawford has released four singles and three EPs, including JEANJEANIE (2020), released on Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records, and The Takeover (2023), a collaboration with acclaimed producer James Dring (Blur, Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey). She has toured extensively, sharing the stage with acts such as Placebo, The Black Lips, Starcrawler, L.A. Witch, Blood Red Shoes, and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.
Now, after nearly a decade of growth and perseverance, Crawford is preparing to finally release those formative Ross Robinson sessions via Angel Olsen’s new label imprint, somethingscosmic.
