Introduced via The Vaselines, Poster Paints create visceral dream pop and shoegaze; the perfect amalgamation of Liddell’s wondrous guitar work and Easton’s dreamlike vocals to stargazing effect.
Individually, they have enjoyed success as parts of other bands and as solo artists. Liddell came to prominance through band Olympic Swimmers before going on to join the highly celebrated Frightened Rabbit, while Easton’s solo work, and with her band TeenCanteen, has seen her constantly reinvent her sound all while maintaining consistent critical acclaim.
Debut single ‘Number 1’ was described as “Reverb-splattered, riotous guitar melodies and supercharged vocals with jangle-pop primacy” (Line of Best Fit) and received extensive play from Marc Riley via BBC6Music, BBC Introducing and BBC Radio Scotland.
Line of Best Fit: “Mining a daydream seam of infectious songwriting in distortive, unfettered fashion akin to that of Teenage Fanclub and The Primitives.”
The Skinny: “a welcome slice of retro sounding jangly pop”
God Is In The TV: “hooks you in like a standout summer anthem, full of gorgeous fuzz and melody, to make something quite beautiful.”
For The Rabbits: “a perfect amalgam of clattering and jangling, as stabs of shoegazing guitars, collide with an almost primal, Velvet Underground like drum-beat."
Snack Mag: “An instant Scottish pop classic”
