Creativity leads to innovation and that is what Precursor is striving for. Connecting elements from Electronica and Techno, Dutch producer and composer Quirijn Verhoog delivers music that leans on the verge of two sonic universes. Verhoog has a unique take on music, taking inspiration from his laboratory research as well as his musical background dating back over 20 years. With an immaculate eye for detail, he builds up complex, yet eclectic tracks.

In 2021 Precursor released his 2nd album <a href="spotify:album:6Sg5ep8ilM3sxTJHqQnI1M" data-name="GLIA">GLIA</a> on Arvet Records, a label by Swedish producer <a href="spotify:artist:2RZbJDQz3gwJppZzfbuxTx" data-name="Sailor &amp; I">Sailor &amp; I</a> starting off with the hit single <a href="spotify:track:6Fs39KtGVjPNGu3MsdzR61" data-name="Human">Human</a>. In this album, Verhoog explores the relationship between neuroscience and sound. The project comes to life with the award-winning videoclip of the single <a href="spotify:album:1YpXGTAgepF0GFMOlcviiE" data-name="Opulent">Opulent</a> in which the viewer takes the perspective of an AI, interpreting beauty and nature. GLIA sees many collaborations, including remixes by <a href="spotify:artist:6Y1nACvxtuuTjKx2b4Rwmb" data-name="Vessels">Vessels</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2EpNqFMVXOEGaliyKnZzDt" data-name="Hunter/Game">Hunter/Game</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3OIINbAKKK2MjCiFEpEft3" data-name="VNTM">VNTM</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0CVGZAPX3PoWewDyNgNyVp" data-name="SQL">SQL</a> and various artists from the Arvet label.

More recently, <a href="spotify:artist:3dEg0QfnghXVJWtz1zVHNA" data-name="Precursor (NL)">Precursor (NL)</a> teases a 3rd album with the single <a href="spotify:track:0BCwIiBl4ZKyWXYGeqG4Qg" data-name="Reset">Reset</a>, and appeared on the labels of <a href="spotify:artist:2EpNqFMVXOEGaliyKnZzDt" data-name="Hunter/Game">Hunter/Game</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7E3BRXV9ZbCt5lQTCXMTia" data-name="Ólafur Arnalds">Ólafur Arnalds</a> with his tracks <a href="spotify:track:5RAOLE7Ev6lzE53cmZ2g5Z" data-name="Carbon-based Lifetime">Carbon-based Lifetime</a> and <a href="spotify:track:1TJY9C3I6qFTORzx67d8Il" data-name="Different Space">Different Space</a>, respectively. These tracks were heavily supported in clubs like Ritter Butzke and KitKat Club.

Meanwhile Verhoog also works as a film composer, with appearances on the short film &#34;Dr Geiger&#34; (2023) followed by the Feyenoord documentary &#34;Gimenez&#34; (2024) and the short film &#34;Vlucht&#34; (2024).
