Preservation's 20-plus years as DJ and producer spans an array of projects and collaborations. As tour DJ for Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def), Preservation has performed across the globe. His production work includes music with Yasiin Bey, Ka, Mach-Hommy, RZA, GZA, Raekwon, U-God, Sean Price, Roc Marciano, Lord Jamar, Ed O.G., KRS-One, Jean Grae, Aesop Rock, Chris Dave, K'naan, Jim Jarmusch and Sonic Sum.
The critically acclaimed album Days with Dr. Yen Lo, Preservation’s collaboration with Brownsville MC - Ka ranked #9 on Rolling Stones Best Hip-Hop Album of 2015. His music productions with Yasiin Bey include contributions to the Grammy-nominated album The Ecstatic (tracks: “Quiet Dog Bite Hard,” “Priority,” and “No hay nada mas”) and five tracks on True Magic. For The REcstatic, Preservation remixed 15 tracks of the now classic album. He is also co-writer of the world-wide hit "Wavin' Flag" by K’naan.
Notably, Preservation accompanied Yasiin Bey at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center with a 20-piece orchestra led by pianist Robert Glasper. He has also shared the stage with such legends as Gil Scott-Heron, Gary Bartz, Shuggie Otis and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
