Punching Knives is the genre-bending creation of five 20-something pals. Originating in spring 2021 when Len Plisic and Naia Mann began collaborating virtually on tracks for a sound art class, the pair started to jam once Covid restrictions loosened, adding fellow art school alum Andres Imperial. Joined by the multitalented Sho Blunderfield and Len’s high school Jazz-band friend Raven Hawthorne, the quintet has made a name for themselves in Vancouver’s DIY scene as the aggressively groovy outfit that will have you swaying to soulful vocals and moshing to fuzzed out guitars all in the same set.
