Punks & Snakes is a reference to fireworks. Did you ever light a punk stick? Or a black snake? Did you ever have a bottle rocket war with your friends and have no social media to post about it on? Jack Burg did. My how things have changed since those hot summer days of the 1980's...
Burg draws water from a deep well of nostalgia, personal troubles and triumphs, and the magic of any given present moment and uses that water to slake the thirst of his musical imagination. From this thirst Punks & Snakes was born around 2006. Over two albums he explores themes of family dysfunction, universal questions about existence, and what it means to be "true".
Punks & Snakes wants to connect with you and help you feel something. The music is a confession. The sound is safe. You are safe. I understand. It's ok to feel.
