My name is Jules “Pusso” Dugasse from the Seychelles Islands. I grew up on Mahé island based in the Seychelles, absorbing hip-hop, dancehall, R&B, and the pulse of kontredans in my neighborhood from a young age. I went to the Seychelles Institute of Art & Design (SIAD)—a place that sharpened my eye for visuals and my ear for production.
I started writing bars in secondary school and that early obsession became a career. From day one I’ve called myself simply an artist: I create in the studio, on stage, and on camera, without boundaries. That mindset still drives me.My first big accomplishment was with Louis Gang We won Best Group/Duo at the Cable Tunes Awards in 2017 and again in 2018
As a solo act, I leaned into dancehall—what I call SeyShatta—and built a catalog that travels from rough-cut street anthems to radio-ready hooks. Some of the songs which have become hits in the country.I have made several notable collaborations with international artists such as Aemann, PanikJ, Kalibwoy, X-man, Mikado, and some which are yet to be released. The idea is to bring Seychelles music to the next level and put it on an international platform rather than just letting the good music of Seychelles remain in the islands. I believe I can bring the music of my nation further. i believe Seychelles can export culture as powerfully as we export beauty. I’m here to raise the bar for island dancehall—on stage, on camera, in the booth—and to keep turning our stories into an international sound.
