Not to be confused with the '70s funk band from New Jersey of the same name, Quazar is one of Amsterdam's top underground techno/house artists of the 1990s. Led by producer MG (aka Gert Van Veen) and featuring keyboard player and occasional vocalist Daphne Mollee, the group debuted in 1990 with the European club hit "Seven Stars." Following a series of 12" singles, plus three albums, Quazar embarked on a world tour in 1995. For their fourth album, 1997's Flightrecorder, the services of Underworld vocalist Karl Hyde were enlisted on some tracks. 21 Hours followed in 1999. ~ Steve Huey, Rovi
