R Rules

R Rules is a story of how three women from two cultural backgrounds came together to become pop performers, working hard on their craft and finding ways to delight their audience. R Rules are composed of RIYO, REINA, RISA.
Reina grew up in Tokyo and moved to Manila at the age of 19. She recalls her Filipina mom’s musical taste as her inspiration to having a powerful voice that hits high notes. She hopes people appreciate her story of moving to unfamiliar place but creating memorable experiences, nonetheless.
Risa grew up in the Philippines between two cultures. Her musical tastes lean toward pop, but interestingly raves about Scott Bradlee’s jazz covers. Her story of loss and finding comfort and care in others is something that people can connect with.
Riyo grew up in Japan, where she was a tuba player in her junior years. She was often bullied at school and had family problems since her parents divorced. These are experiences that taught her resilience to continue her journey that led her to Manila. Her dream is to perform at the Met Gala someday.

R Rules wants to energize people by their music and inspire them to believe in themselves to achieve their dreams.
