Country singer and songwriter Rachel Farley knew as a child that she wanted a career as a professional musician and performer. Born March 18, 1995 in Lawrenceville, Georgia, she picked up the guitar at the age of 11, and was writing songs by the age of 12, playing out anywhere she could. Brantley Gilbert spotted her at a songwriter's round one night, took her under his wing, and at the age of 13 she was doing up to 100 shows a year as Gilbert's opening act on tour, and then later opened for Jason Aldean on his tour. Signing with Red Bow Records, Farley was only 17 when her debut single, "Ain't Easy," landed on the country charts early in 2013. By the time her debut album, produced by Michael Knox, appeared later in the year, Farley was already a seasoned music biz veteran, although she was still only 18 years old. ~ Steve Leggett, Rovi
