Born and raised in East London, growing up in a musical family, Rachel Sandy began producing and writing music in her home studio. Inspired by classical music and the film soundtracks of her childhood, Rachel independently learned to play several instruments including classical piano and guitar. By the age of 15, Rachel was writing full symphonic scores and experimenting with music production.
Rachel began to write and produce her own material, inspired by great musical figures such as <a href="spotify:artist:2lD1D6eEh7xQdBtnl2Ik7Y" data-name="Hildur Guðnadóttir">Hildur Guðnadóttir</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4W3fa7tiXGVXl3KilbACqt" data-name="Gustavo Santaolalla">Gustavo Santaolalla</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:71jzN72g8qWMCMkWC5p1Z0" data-name="Alexandre Desplat">Alexandre Desplat</a>, and quickly developed a fascination with creating melodies and interweaving textures within music, through both acoustic and electro-synthetic elements. Rachel enjoys the freeing nature of music and strives to write music that is both thought provoking and emotive.
In late 2020, Rachel began posting music content on social media platforms. She has grown an audience of more than 1.2 Million followers. Encouraged by the positive response, Rachel began to explore songwriting and modern production alongside her classical roots. Rachel aims to pursue a full time career in film composition, whilst continuing to explore her own artistry through personal projects, songwriting and instrumental works.
