Raoul & The Wisemen

Raoul & the Wisemen is a band from Amsterdam that plays a melodical brew of pop and alternative music that makes you dream, melancholic and hopeful at the same time. It might remind you of Keane-like melodies, the warmth and richness of HEAVN and voices from the 80’ies like Marian Gold (Alphaville) and George Michael.

Their productions flirt with both acoustic and electronical elements, their songs are like short stories. Think of purple neon lights over the city, warm summer nights in the forest or howling storms in your mind. In their own words: we bring you soft power story pop. Anouncing their gig at the Amsterdam Amstelpark, the Dutch newspaper Het Parool mentioned that ‘their melodical pop with an electronical touch will, as we expect, make the park blossom’.

Dutch radio station NPO Radio 5 invited the band as a guest artist because of their single ‘Conversation’. Following songs received attention in Dutch media (Parool, Noord-Hollands Dagblad, Shot of Culture, ‘Toute Fabienne’/GoodLifeRadio, Radio Aalsmeer, RTV NH and Pinguin Radio). The band played on festivals like the Come out and Play Festival, Festival Bakkum Vertelt, Willems Wondere Weiland and venues like Podium de Groene Zwaan.

Raoul & the Wisemen has a special relationship with Slovenia. They regularly played at festivals and summer events in that country. They were featured on Slovene radio and television (RTV Slovenija, Radio Maxi, ALTR Radio).
