Ray Pierce is from Southwest Oklahoma and grew up in the small town areas of Cyril and Cement. At the age of 13, after discovering punk rock, he fell in love with music. His parents bought him his first guitar and began lessons, quickly learning how to play. Throughout his high school years Pierce played in a rock band with friends, performing at local events playing mostly cover songs with some originals throughout the next couple years. It was during college when he was inspired by country music and developed a passion for songwriting with influences from Keith Urban, Chris Stapleton and Eric Church.
Pierce took a 4 year hiatus from music to focus on finishing college. During this time he graduated college and met his wife. He was also diagnosed with hearing loss and was advised to wear hearing aids. He and his wife had a son while Pierce worked in construction for his family’s business as well as ran a small farm selling fresh produce to people in the area. During those 4 years music was still a passion that was not getting the attention Pierce wanted to give it. At the end of summer 2020 he decided to close the farm business and start seriously focusing on music.
Pierce had a handful of songs he had written during his hiatus and decided to take them to the studio where he has been working with some of Oklahoma’s most talented musicians, producers and engineers. He plans to release his debut project throughout the course of 2021.
