A founding member of Throwed Coalition, Ray Rife exhibits a mastery of vivid storytelling through honest reflections from his life experiences. Rife’s lyrical prowess is redolent of 90’s era New-York rap, yet his style is progressive enough to complement any hip-hop playlist. He has been featured on several online blogs, most notably HotNewHipHop, who substantiates his ability to “create a narrative” within his music.
Born Christopher Nicholson, he forged relationships through streetball, but balanced his influences as a scholar, motivated to become bigger than his neighborhood. Rife began writing in the 7th grade, but wasn’t until his Sophomore year of college where he revealed his lyrical abilities, subsequently earning respect as an emcee on campus. In 2013, he released his debut mixtape “Road to Exile”, which included production from frequent collaborator Southside Chulo fka Bahbi Bonez and Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum producer, Dizzy Banko.
