Red Box first hit the headlines in the early ’80s with a world-flecked sound that brought Tribal Pop to the airwaves well before the term ‘World Music’ was coined.
Their ambitious and eclectic debut album ‘The Circle and the Square’ (1986) put them firmly on the musical map, delivering two global hits in ‘Lean on Me (ah-li-ayo)’ and ‘For America’. ‘The Circle and the Square’ and Red Box’s follow-up release, ‘Motive’, have since become cult albums.
Red Box returned successfully in 2012 with a new album ‘Plenty’ and have since been performing throughout Europe.
The band's latest album 'Chase the Setting Sun' was released on 13 September 2019.
Red Box's most recent single, 'Wait For You', was released 23 March 2023.
