"Ain't no other four bad girls to straight up buss out the scene!". Rap pioneer group Relay began their careers in the late 80's under the name "Perfect Image". Founding members Amber and Dasha Lackey formed the group out of their family apartment on Wesley Chapel road in Decatur, Ga. The girls quickly became well known in the city of Atlanta. Atlanta, is a music powerhouse today, but back then, it was a city still under development, ripe with hidden fruits.

The group gained popularity by performing at the first Bronner Brothers Hair show. The girls were soon in high demand. They were elementary school students when asked to perform at the state Capital building, a personal request of the late Mayor Maynard Jackson. Their first hit single "Kick em to the Curb" showed off the girls sassy attitudes, appealing to kids and adults alike. They we're even cheered on by local legends like Ryan Cameron, who affectionately would call them the "Kick em to the Curb" girls.

Amber caught the attention of rap legend Disco Rick on a local radio rap contest "Who Got the Flava". Rick introduced the group (now called by Relay) to Krayzie Bone at a local concert. They were featured on the multi platinum album "Thug Mentality 1999" on the song "Relay Thugline".
